Tales of Tahitian Waters, by Zane Grey
Fascinating tale of fishing in "virgin" waters during the 1920's and early 30's. Makes one appreciate modern tackle and techniques, not to mention artificial baits and ice makers. This book also highlights the confusion regarding billfish identification that existed during those times. This book is a "must read" for those interested in the history of big game angling, as well as those who want a greater appreciation of modern billfishing.

Great value in a quality diving watch
4 of 5 found this helpful The Seiko Prospex PADI Edition solar diving watch is attractive, comfortable, and does just what it's supposed to do. The one-way bezel is easy to set, and a splash of red adds to its modern look. Unfortunately, the pins in the bracelet tend to fall out once the bracelet's length has been adjusted, and they require a drop of glue to remain in place. The "cyclops" window helps magnify the date, but could be a size larger. I've heard others comment that the round enlargement on the second hand would better placed on the second hand's indicator end, as is the case with Rolex, Omega, and some other Seiko diver's watches, but this is a minor point. Overall, this is a great-looking watch at an excellent price, and should serve a diver for a long time following its purchase.

Sturdy, but heavy
I bought this rod specifically for pier fishing, where fishes often have to be cranked or slung up to the pier's deck. Lightweight, very sensitive graphite rods may snap under these conditions, but not the Ugly Stick Tiger. There's no question that this rod is heavier and less sensitive than a high-performance graphite stick, but it will also take considerably more abuse. For use on a pier or jetty, and for many boating situations that don't require constant casting, this rod fits the bill nicely.
