Great HD video with 5 axis stabilisation, very compact.
I bought the V700 as it has the newer 5 axis stabilisation. I previously used the Panasonic SD60 which is slightly but noticeably narrower. The HD video is the same quality but the additional stabilisation in the roll plane makes for better picture stability when filming whilst walking. I am very pleased with the purchase as I think the HD quality is only a whisker away from the larger top of the line 3 chip recorders which are somewhat larger. The later models have more gizmos but the video quality is the same, so I believe this would suffice for most people.
The battery has to be charged whilst on the recorder but I was lucky enough to purchase this with an additional charger and spare battery. To sum up this is a very compact recorder with excellent stabilisation and picture quality and can be obtained now for a bargain price.
