Makes a crazy situation brilliant!
When you order a computer, gadget or phone in the 21st Century, you don't imagine it will come with a power charging cable so unique that it looks like a Nokia charger form 1990.
This is the case with the Linx 10 Windows tablet though! The tablet is fantastic for a sub £100 tablet and with the origami keyboard makes a great little laptop substitute. However, the battery lasts 6 hours tops, so you are going to need to charge it up in the course of a day.
The tablet comes with one of it's special charging cables with a huge wall plug on it. Not very portable and really chunky. This cable is the answer. I ordered 2, one for my bag, one in the office so I can leave the big old wall plug at home. Perfect.
Ideally, the tablet wants 5V at 2 amps, which the charger in my car and my external USB charger support, but most computer USBs only provide 1.1 amps. This means the tablet hardly charges while in use, but using the cable with a standard 1.1 amp source does stop the power from draining from the tablet's battery. When the tablet is not in use and connected to a 1.1 amp source it charges slowly.
This is in no way a reflection of the cable, it's just how electricity works! Great cable, makes the Linx 10 a truly portable solution.
