What more can be said
This is what started the "buddy cop" genre, and while it does show it's age a bit in some scenes, it still matches up to anything that's come since. If you like the genre, you'll love this.

Nothing comes close
Hard, gritty, with a solid taste of realism, the remodeling of BSG is easily one of the best sci-fi productions out there.
Solid in-your-face stories, without the fluff commonly seen in sci-fi series (even, or especially, the original BSG), this series really brought life on the edge to every viewer. It's dark, and realistic enough to draw you into situations you'd never thought possible for a TV series.
It's often blunt treatment of a variety of morale issues make this a series that everyone should see, and take to heart.
Well worth every penny.
