Considering JLL had a terrific knack for always making great recordings, this should be considered a one off in terms of an offering of completely hard to listen songs. The usually amazing piano work JLL is known for is MIA and the quality of the mix levels seem crafted by an engineer hack.
Could be summed up as too many great musicians crammed onto one recording, causing an over blown affair which fails miserably to translate the sum of their talent to tape. In short, it's a hot mess, and not hot in the Jerry Lee Lewis way but a mess in the worst possible way.
