Warship Observer strives to have the world's most comprehensive inventory of Jane's Fighting Ships. Other books on naval matters are carried as well. Every book is examined for merits and faults. Repairs are often made. The covers are cleaned, tears may be taped, and loose elements glued. Many editions have at least minor structural issues. Conventional wisdom on the maintenance of antique books is to do only what is absolutely necessary. Few of these books are worthy of that kind of reverence. An 1898 edition will be left alone as long as it has some integrity. Later editions are likely to rehabilitated as required. The terms rare or scarce can be overused. There is not an edition of JFS printed after 1939 that is rare, scarce or uncommon.

The book was just what I was looking for. It was exactly as described and the provided pictures were good indicators of its condition. The packaging was good and it was properly protected during shipping. The shipping was prompt and without issue. It was rebound, but it is sturdy and of great value.
