If you love espresso, this may not be for you.
I bought a used GX5000 grinder which works fine and I am sure that it would be adequate for many kinds of coffee drinks, but if you wish to use this for espresso, you may be happier with a Krups GVX1 or GVX2. I own two GVX1s, both of which have more settings on the finer side of the spectrum. The GX5000 will grind for espresso but only on the finest setting. On the GVX, the finest setting is almost fine enough for Turkish coffee. By the way, my GVXs are much older and more worn than the GX and all of these grinders share virtually the same mechanisms ! But the GVX offers a better range of finer grinds.
