Sylvians Best of
Everything and Nothing contains some of the best music David Sylvian has ever recorded. The opening track on CD1, The scent of Magnolia sets the standard and an extremely high standard it is. You can listen to the music loud or just have it on in the bcakground and chill out. There are songs from his Japan days (Ghosts re-recorded for this album) his collaboration with Robert Fripp (Gods Monkey) and a project he did with the Japan boys in the nineties called Rain, Tree, Crow (Blackwater). The songs are all good and quite a few are outstanding, Orpheus being one of the best lyrically and music wise. All in all one of the best compilation albums you could listen to. I just hope David Sylvian manages to scale heights like this again some day.
