Genius 3000 speakers excel
For the $65 that I paid for the brand new Genius 3000 speakers set, I am happily amazed by their performance. Much better than the Genius 2000 speakers that I've been using for past year that I thought were wonderful, but the 3000's are far superior when tested side-by-side. The 3000 ported subwoofer is far superior to the 2000 sub. I noticed that the two desktop speakers really improved their sound quality after a few hours of high-volume use. I did make some minor performance improvements using the speakers equalizer in Windows 10 to even out the frequency response. This was very important for the subwoofer to reduce port noise by greatly reducing the amplitude of frequencies below 30 Hz which require large excursions of the subwoofer cone causing a lot of air flowing to-&-fro thru the port. Humans can't actually hear those frequencies, we only feel them, so the net low-frequency sound quality is significantly improved.
