This is a complicated and initially hard to use scanner as it is very different to a conventional scanner. It doesn't take long for things to click and make sense and when it does you will be impressed. I sold my AOR 8200 to buy this and can say that the analogue performance of the Whistler is better then the AOR. The Whistler has better audio quality, isn't overloaded by strong local signals and is easier to program via a PC. The digital performance is impressive too and I've even got 4 trunking systems programmed, its easy to filter out the unwanted stuff and scan by talkgroups etc.
I had never heard of Whistler before and was worried it would be some cheap import but after using for a few months now I know it is a quality product.
The downsides for me are: The display is hard to read without the backlight being on, some features are unique to the American market, screen scratches too easily.
