Better -- but not perfect.
The sound cancelling feature of the earbuds is only partially effective. Having had a BOSE noise-cancelling headset, I can tell a distinct difference. I would estimate the earbuds only cancel perhaps 50% of the noise when in the cabin of the average airliner. Better -- but not best.
The comfort factor is perhaps a little better than I expected. The earpieces are slanted so that insertion into the ear channel fits better.
