awesome first hand account of a civil war battle
This is an awesome first hand account of the defense of Fort Sanders (now a part of Knoxville) by my great-grandfather. I found it fascinating to read, simply because it was a first hand account. I am grateful that the story was reprinted so that others can read it and I hope that I can find other stories like this to read, as something like this is an important part of our history. I cannot imagine what the civil war soldiers went though, but it was exciting to read, I felt like I was there and made even more special as I am a descendent of the writer
