The Red Tent
This book was a bit hard to get into with so many characters in the beginning. But soon enough I got into the book, and did not want to put it down. Anita Diamont has taken the old testiment and woven her own creative storyline into the mix. I loved the way she combines fact and fiction and makes it so believable and interesting. This book is one of my favorite books of all time. I have bought this book and given it to all my friends.

Mary on Horseback
I bought this for my daughter to do a book report on. She is an avid equestrian and I thought this would be about a woman and her horse. It turned out to be about a woman who faced horrible hardships in her life and still made her life in caring for others. She started visiting the people in the Apalcian(?) mountains to give them healthcare. She of course, traveled hundreds of tough terrain with her horse to get to them. This book told the story of Mary's life and accomplishments, along with a few stories of certain individuals that touched her deeply. My daughter is in 5th grade, and LOVED this book. She thanked me 5 times for picking it out for her. She was very inspired by Mary.
