Best little 1/4" foot available.
I've tried them all and this plastic foot is the best one. I teach quilting and all my students must have a 1/4" foot. The clear plastic ones are best for viewing your seam edge. More important, is sturdy thanks to the metal shank. The other "little" plastic foot costs more and I've had a couple that broke at the shank. Width quide is a nice bonus with this foot.

WOW! Vastly decreases pin strikes
I do precision quilt piecing on a Bernina 1000 - sewing approximately 4-5 hours a day. I use a lot of very fine pins when piecing and out of necessity I often sew over pins. I do try to pull them in time but find it impossible to pull them all. Pins strikes were happening several times a day and often the struck pin would be driven down through the needle plate into the hook. Easy to see how this could happen - the zigzag opening is wide, the pins are very fine and easily bent. I went through a lot of pins and 2-5 needle changes per day. I hoped that this needle plate would decrease the frequency of pins being driven into the hook. I did not expect it to eliminate the problem but it has done just that. In the first 3 days of use I have not had a single pin driven into the hook, I have had maybe 2 minor pin strikes. I have changed my needle only once due to a barb resulting from a simple pin strike.
