How Big is Carson City? Enough to need a Big Box
This is a great game. I love the mix of elements. Without going into a review of the game which you can find elsewhere. The box itself and contents are great. Plus meeple source has a set of meeples you can buy as an upgrade, and their are also metal coins for this game. In the end, all of these are high quality and awesome. I love this game for both playability and component quality.

The Future is Bright Got to Wear Shades
MCC is a fantastic game. It is what the 7th edition of Gamma World (made by WOTC) should have been. DCC, its sister rpg, captured the essence of why the Old School was enchanting and not overly-overblown and complex like modern AD&D (or Dungeons and Dragons 5e) is. Yet, obviously, that too has place in the game world, but sort of like the difference between In and Out Burger and McDonald's. In and Out Burger is like how McDonald's use to be, with one size burger, fries, etc. made of real ingredients that make it a deeply satisfying experience and preference for many who would much rather eat In and Out Burger rather than McDonald's. That might not be you, but realize a LOT of people crave that so a game like DCC gave them that Original Taste, and MCC gives you that original taste that Gamma World and its predecessor Metamorphosis Alpha give you (though Goodman Games also brought that back and it uses that older pre-Gamma World system). Best part is, you can incorporate and use all those non-MCC sourcebooks and modules by simply porting over the concepts if you feel that material is something you need in your game. It is very Open Sandbox so you can make your Verse the one you want. It comes with a Terra AD setting that is purposely vague and non-defining about why the world is now how and what it is. That is up to you the GM, or rather Judge. I think maybe the game could call that position the Overseer and change the name, or High Administrator. The game goes back to when Humans were Pure Stock, Mutants were humans with funky powers, and Animals and Plants could walk around and talk and all can be viable characters with wacky elements that sometimes border on the irrational and the we-don't-need to logically explain this just roll with it type of story telling. It does not need to fit and be defined by your categories. To summon that language from the Last Jedi "break expectations". Well, unlike the craptastical Last Jedi movie who failed to capture the essence of Star Wars, and instead did the opposite, this game literally captures the essence of why roleplaying games were made and fueled by Nerd Love all those decades ago. Maybe Rian Johnson should play a MCC so he can get what real inspiration and true imagination is like, and maybe pigs and monkeys will fly. Best thing is in a game like MCC they can! for real. Become a child-like adult or if your young experience why people like Gary Gygax even made Dungeons and Dragons, the original NOT the Advanced game where you being a Dwarf was your class so in this game being a Plantient is your class. You are a mutant plant, not a human with one of their four classes. I once saw someone make up a DCC class which was a Dwarf Warrior/Cleric or Elven Rogue. That type of mentality misses the whole point of this game. You are going down a road that lead to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and eventually 5+ editions at the time of this review. MCC shares this same distilled essence. Pure Strain Humans are not like the humans today, they have evolved or being genetically altered so they cannot mutate and diseases that would kill you or I if we were ported to that distant and far off time would kill us dead within minutes, or if we are Lucky, within hours. These are robust humans of the future. That is why they are 'Pure Strain'. Go out and play this game. Try it, or try DCC, and just like going and seeing an In and Out Burger not knowing what the heck that is, after long been use to McDonald's and finally eating In and Out and realizing 'Wow'. Yup, that is a tasty burger isn't it. That is what MCC is like. So treat yourself to a bit of good old fashioned burger and fries like they use to make. P.S. I used these metaphors to make a point. If you love Last Jedi or McDonald's great go buy some McDonad's and watch the Last Jedi tonight. I'm merely making an analogy demonstrating how MCC truly hits the mark and gets it right and does so without all the fancy complexity that the 'newer' and 'bigger' might offer. Pure and Simple delivers satisfaction guaranteed.
