Fabulous Integrated Amplifier
1 of 1 found this helpful This stereo integrated amplifier had all the features I was looking for, but some of the reviews gave it a low rating for sound quality. I took a chance anyway. It sounds fabulous! The bass is so gutsy that my CD player sometimes skips, even at 1/3 volume. The unit runs cool -- never breaks a sweat.
Pros: Fabulous, powerful sound. Tape monitor switch. Front panel microphone input. Tone and balance controls, with loudness switch. (Yes, I'm a retro audiophile.) Other features (120W per channel, phono input, etc.) can be found on products from other manufacturers.
Cons: Runs on 230VAC, so I had to wire it like a window air conditioner. Also, I hate the speaker terminals -- it took me longer to wire the speakers than to wire the AC power! The terminals didn't like my #12AWG speaker wires at all, but I eventually got them secured.
