20MHz parts fail above 5-6MHz
5 of 5 found this helpful Under test the supplied parts failed to operate above a clock frequency of 5-6 MHz Whereas the seller clearly states these are 20MHz parts. The test equipment used was a 20 MHz Z80 SBC, a variable clock generator Freetech TTL Signal Generator, EL302P programmable PSU & Tenma 72-8705 Oscilloscope. The tests were carried out using full ESD protection. These are most likely Z80A 4Mhz parts or rejected 20MHz parts.

Good value for money.
Arrived ahead of expected time, fitted and functions perfectly, listed as new but there were some marks that indicated otherwise.

Excellent value and features for the price.
I did not use the instructions, just played with it until happy. It has very good facilities and seemed happy even when a 500GB external drive was connected (powered from a seperate PSU) , provided that the file system was set up with the box. The pofessional box I looked at with similar features was well over ten times the cost of this little gem. The remote is a little flimsy and seems to jump several channels/steps sometimes so pressing the buttons quickly and firmly - I bought a second remote as a spare just in case which cost only £2 extra if bought with the main unit. It does not decode AC3 audio (for some foreign channels) and for most non UK channels you will need to select and set audio coding. I use 2 of these units on a multi LNB set to ASTRA 19.2E - where it works well and on those channels with Sub titles (when transmitted) the Subtitles are clearly displayed. Excellent therefore as an aid to learning a foreign language. The recording system was easy to use and will also play back MP4 files recorded elsewhere [e.g from the net). Value for money - 100% - will be buying more. The picture shows it decoding German subtitles, Note(the photo qualty is poor but the TV picture was perfect). This item was also connected to a Terrestrial aerial and gave good results there as well.
