The right tape for metal ductwork. Don't waste time and money on standard cheap tape.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have owned 2 homes and installed new furnace duct work in both with the help of freelance professionals. They NEVER use standard fabric-embedded duct tape sold at most stores because it always crumbles apart within a few years. The pros use aluminum foil tape and there are 2 popular types. Both use the same thin metal foil but one has a clear adhesive-tape style backing and it works well on insulated spiral flexi-duct and duct board often used to make plenums. The other is this stuff (Polyken 360-17 made by Nashua) which has a much thicker rubbery gray adhesive backing and a distinctive blue peel-off plastic liner. This thicker version doesn't rip or puncture easily which is a big advantage on metal ducts and collars which often have sharp or jagged edges. Unlike the thinner version, you really can't tear this one and you have to cut strips off the roll which can slow installation a bit. But the upside is its gummy backing seems to adhere even better after being exposed the furnace heat. Both stick for good to a clean dry surface. You'll probably want some of each version for a big job. Pay for the right tapes and you'll be happier in the long run.

Works, but not for long. Design needs improvement.
Rubber O-ring gasket on plunger comes off easily and is small enough to lose easily. Tip hole can be jagged and may require light sanding. Use only with water-based lube as silicone will drain out.

Simple, effective but not durable. Discontinued model - old bottles may shatter.
Simple, cheaply made device makes 1 liter bottles of fizzy water cheaper than SodaStream while it lasts. However HB stopped making it years ago and some liquidators are selling old inventory that may not be safe to use. Packaging warns that bottles used past their imprinted expiration date may shatter under pressure.
