BRILLIANT

5***** BLAZING MARVELOUS
I saw this film on the Big Screen when it was first released and I fell about laughing so much that I'm sure I must have annoyed all the other punters there. Anyway I had to sit through it a second time straight off.
Mel Brookes is a past master at Spoofs and BLAZING SADDLES is his best so far.
If you are a person who beleives in Political Correctness then this film must be avoided at all times.
From the opening scene the PC stuff started but it was and still is painfully funny. The one scene that everyone remembers is the bean eating scene and of course the results of flatulance that follows. For me the scene that steals the show was the sheriff to be ( Cleavon Little) is riding to Red Rock to the sounds of a fabulous orchestra when the camera pans onto Count Basie + Orchestra playing in the middle of the desert.
The film is full of one liners and sight gags that you have to see it over and over..
I bought my copy the 30th. Anniversary Special Edition with the usual deleted scenes , trailer, scene specific commentary by Mel Brooks + Black Bart 1975 pilot episode of the proposed TV series spinoff , a documentary Back In the Saddle and an excerpt all about the Late Madelaine Kahn.
This was well worth the wait ! 30 Years !
I could pick holes in Blazing Saddles , it is not without faults but to me personally the whole film is One Big Hoot from start to finish.
So if you have not bought your copy , there is still plenty of time.

The idea to reproduce this to look like a baseball was clever
