Great for a nightstand pistol

I bought this for my bride's nightstand gun, so I do not require it to withstand thousands of rounds of competition abuse. It is plenty bright and the green laser is visible day or night. I also like that, when I hear a pack of coyotes in the yard, I can grab her gun and take the shot. I dialed it in at 30 yards so, in the yard, just point the laser and shoot, day or night.

There are better choices.

First, these bars rely very heavily on sugar for the calories; it's the number one ingredient. Kids will love them but adults will quickly tire of the sweet flavor. If this bar was available in a smaller size, I would order it as a dessert or a treat to augment other survival bars. This brings us to complaint number two - packaging. There is only one package for all 3,600 calories. Once it is open it must be eaten. The nine bars are not individually wrapped. Other brands are available in 200, 400, 1,200, and 2,400 calorie sizes. This makes it easier to rotate the bars as they approach their expiration date. The smaller sizes get used on hikes, snacks, backpacking, hunting trips,etc. The SOS bars, thusly packaged, are only good for sitting around as an emergency prep to be thrown out on their expiration date.

Good for field repairs

These are good quality and great for field repairs but they are not original equipment. They differ in that the plastic is slit so that it can be installed without sewing. I would change back to the original type as soon as I got back to a sewing machine. I got a set of these for field fix and a set of original equipment for permanent repair.
