Commie classic
A fine example of the Soviet Union's best optical accomplishments. Stolen German machine tooling, materials, glass, blueprints and technicians produced a quality product (1000 miles east of where it belonged) under Stalin's diabolical dictatorship. I love this little gem. It's a perfect partner to my Leica lllc, accepting all the German, Japanese and Russian M39 lenses I have already collected. Not as smoothly-operating or well-finished as its Kraut progenitor, it is nonetheless a beautiful and impressive creation. If you like film, you can't go wrong with this. No meter, but I like using my handheld Gossen Luna-Pro made in West Germany. Get one today!

Batteries with shelf life
These are the new green replacement for dangerous mercury batteries. These are zinc-air and don't become active until the tab on the back is removed, so they have a 10 yr shelf life! Now I can count on using my Gossen Luna-Pro light meters far into the future with my old Leica rangefinder cameras. The batteries require a time-out after being activated before they rev up to full power but they have stable, long-duration output of 1.35v so it's not necessary to recalibrate your meter as one must do with PX625a or other modern and unsuitable substitutes. These make it so easy to resurrect your trusty photo sidearm for us halide-junkie Luddites who eschew or limit our use of digital cameras in favor of lovely and comforting photosensitive cellulose acetate or estar based media. The price is right and so is the performance. I couldn't believe my luck when I found them: I had tried numerous approaches to powering my old Kraut meters to accompany my East German and Soviet Commie lenses and bodies that were just lying around unused and unloved but these batteries have given me my babies back. No offense meant to digital devices but analog rocks in so many more ways and just generates that afterglow of accomplishment when you've worked so hard to create that perfect, meaningful exposure. I hope these continue to be available, but just in case I purchased a whole box. I have old Pentax cameras that use them also. Thanks, Micro-Tools!

Just what I needed
This is sturdy, very useful, comfortable and classy. I have about 6 for use on a variety of small cameras and compact binoculars plus light meters. The chain is plastic coated so as not to pinch and catch the hairs on your neck. Very nice.
