A failed affair, but still an icon of that era
Reminds me of a very similar experience in 1977 (the car not the affair, I was newly married).
Very much associated with the 70's era..
Only embarrassing in the UK v USA one-up-manship challenge.

The Shadows -Life Story
I bought this to relive my teenage years, when they were one of my favourite groups. In those years (60') my family didn't even have a record player, so it was radio or nothing.
Most of the famous tracks are here, plus several later tracks. I especially like Mountains of the Moon, apparently one of theirs but with no date. Some of the second CD covers of tracks made more famous by others are a welcome addition, especially Moonlight Shadow, Chariots of Fire, Miami Vice and Local Hero. "You Win Again" is a real better-than-the-original version.
I also really like Life Story (not theirs?), but don't know if the CD is named after it.

Shadows 50 Golden Greats
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this to relive my teenage years in the 60's; I was born in 1949.
Most of the hits are here, sounding even better than before with that great guitar sound; remember they pre-date stereo, never mind hi-fidelity.
Some of the copies of hits by the others are better than others, with God Only Knows coming low on the list.
I was a little disappointed with the Stingray and Thunderbirds themes; perhaps watching the puppets at the same made you overlook these "weak" tunes.
Overall, I prefer the double CD "Life Story", but both add different tracks to the basic shared original tracks.
