this is a stock part.
Quick easy fix and the reel is up again. But don't drop it on the heel of the gear box or you will be buying the part again. Weight is a key factor in modern reels but from stock the part could really be heavier - but that's a manufacturer problem. The reel does what it is supposed to do and has handled anything I've tossed at it - just don't drop it.

This is historic and modern information that is valuable in understanding the history and future portent of the fishing industry. If you are into what drives fish population, and the fishing industry particularly on the East Coast of the USA this is a worthy read.
