Beverly Cleary is all about quality writing.
This is a great book and series. I read them to my five year old son and there is just the right mixture of adventure, defiance, common sense and moral goodness (kind of like him!) Mouse and the Motorcycle was one of my favorites when I was about 10

OK for a beginner violin
This was purchased for a 4th grader. It was acceptable to the music teacher with the suggestion that we plan on a better quality instrument as he progresses. It's got a nice sound and good for learning on. It's a great value but some music programs will always frown on anything less than their rental program instruments.
