Nicely built but has some design defects, not a mountain bike.
7 of 11 found this helpful I bought this for an 8 year old girl with long legs and the 12" frame just fitted her nicely. The overall appearance is good with disk brake at the front and V at rear. The frame is quite long so I had to change the bars as the upsweep was too high making it a long stretch to reach. Like most Taiwan budget bikes the steel frame, forks and rear swing arm are ridiculously heavy making the bike clumsy at low speeds and not suitable for off road use. Gearchange and wheels are good and overall handling is ok for road use. Crankset is too big making the bike geared for 40mph and the pedals hit the ground on off road corners, definitely not a mountain bike. If Halfords really want to win people back they should talk to bike designers and change the specification, they would end up with better, cheaper bikes.
