Nothing better
Don't go with nickel, use Rotosound stainless steel every time.

Fender Precision Plus (USA 1991) truss rod nut
Excellent, for two reasons. The hex drive socket is twice as deep as the original/stock issue which means it is far less likely to round-off or slip with use. Secondly, the internal thread, which the truss rod screws into, runs the whole length up to the hex socket. The thread of the original only ran half the length of the nut which meant you quickly ran out of threads/adjustment.

Reliable plugs
I find these very good for loud music situations, particularly playing gigs. I addition to attenuating the sound level, you can hold a close conversation at high noise levels. I use them in noisy hotel rooms and when I need to sleep on a train. Plus, if you lose one, it’s cheap to replace.
