Not the same as the older units
This current WestBend model is junk. The first time I used it the stirring rods quit rotating.(60 seconds in) . While they were rotating 90% of the kernels were sliding underneath. It is a much cheaper version of the original unit. MY old one lasted 30 years with frequent use. I asked for a refund and am moving on.
