Legendary brand of pens
1 of 1 found this helpful Mark Twain liked one of the models. I was curious. Bought a model mid range in price : the Endura. It's pretty, comfortably long. Nib has a shape that allows flexibility so as to create a wide range of flow widths, which makes for creative lettering. Resin is smooth yet durable and scratch resistant. Marble like pattern is elegant. Writing with it is easy. Flow is abundant so you will need to buy nicer quality paper to write on , else it will bleed through cheap paper. It looks good in your shirt pocket.

Nikon N60 preplastic quality build
12 of 12 found this helpful The Nikon N60 camera is a product of an era perhaps gone by.It straddles different manufacturing philosophies.Being an entry camera it has a comfortable large enough body with a magnesium shell and a viewfinder that,to me ,looks brighter than later even more upscale models like the N80.It has good programming of typical needs for the novice and it has good auto focus.It is also made in Japan by the factories that made the Nikon the reputed quality performer that it is.
Soon after the world was to change.... lower prices,more automation meant
plastics galore and more advanced designer chips bringing amazing automation and control but slight declines in viewfinder brightness,heft,size and quality feel made by cheaper work forces elsewhere.Sound typical?
In short the N60 is handsome ,sturdy metallic heft and feel and brighter viewfinder but relatively primitive non-whizbang matrix metering of center weighted censors and slower autofocus.If you can work good pictures with that,and the classics did so with much less,then you could enjoy the n60.That's why I bought it

Panasonic LX3 : A marvel of optics and processing .
The 24mm wide angle at 35mm equivalency is very nice indeed . The tele end being just 3x that leaves you wishing for more but the wide end is so nice you are willing to overlook to that . It is well made . The lens resolution is tops . Scenes and people just jump at you in those shots . The high iso shots are competitive still to 1600 . After that it resembles what film of those sensitivities used to look like only a little better . Battery life is nicely long and the battery replacement are bountiful . It is soo good this camera that I find myself leaving the pro stuff home .
