The first one lasted 18 months, before the bearing wore out.
2 of 2 found this helpful The blade began to get noticeably duller after a year of near daily use. Thin bits of black plastic, in a broken circular pattern, appeared after using the blender 2 or three times after about 14 months. The blender began to sound somewhat louder and the blade began to stop moving freely after use at 18 months. The bearing was failing at 18 months. The warranty is only one year, so it lasted longer than advertised.
Gunk builds up around and under the gasket, which the company does not supply as a replaceable part. I discovered that I could uses a dull, thin-bladed, paring knife to carefully slide the knife between the gasket and the cap, being careful not to nick or cut the gasket. This gets out some of the leftover puree. With a little bit of leverage, moving along the inside of the gasket, it is possible to get it lifted enough to remove it and clean both the gasket and gasket track. I now do that after every use. My wife had another ninja, and when we finally took the gasket out of it, the gasket had turned black on the underside from decaying matter. The gasket material was permanently granular black on the underside, but with regular cleaning it's not getting worse. To the Nutri Ninja gasket needs to be removed and cleaned regularly. If the gasket were easily removable for cleaning and the blade stayed sharper, I would have given this 5 stars. A one year warranty is too short. This buy was a good deal.

The starting sometimes doesn't start. Rotating the container makes it work.
