Got my ball FLAT!!!

I just got my basketball and when I opened the box, the ball was FLAAAAT!!! I don’t think the ball was meant to be like that. I was buying it for a christmas present for my boyfriend & now I can’t give it to him. I could pump it but that means i would have to go buy a pump & that is more inconvenient, i rather just return it. not worth it, sorry!!! :(
