I am looking for a different solution
1 of 2 found this helpful I thought this would be an ideal solution for a small group camping on a fresh water lake. There were multiple issues with this and ewe ended up pumping our old individual hiking filters. I’d really hate to have to depend on it! The cheap pump broke but that’s fine as it create a vacuum that impedes flow if you don’t keep on pumping. Then the filter slowed to a drip very quickly. I was careful to paddle into the lake and get clean water. Then we prefiltered. It didn’t matter. I cleaned the filter several times to little avail. It’s a good thing we had backups! I’d never recommend this. It’s too bad. I really wanted this to work.
I’d also be curious if given that there is no gasket to seal the clean water bucket aside from the lid gasket that something bad couldn’t leak in either from a spill load the top bucket or other contamination leaking down.
