A decent read
This is a very good book, in terms of HIV analysis, the writer is obviously well versed from the beginning in terms of the history & demographics. I sometimes think that you need to have an understanding of molecular biology to understand this author. He spends a lot of time dismissing 3 monkey SIV's but you're none the wiser knowing the origin of the virus or the origin of the epidemic at the end. He dismisses a lot of work done at the end of the 90's by Galo et al, I don' t have much of an idea if this is valid. He dismisses the "the man made origins" of HIV which is odd as he starts off "there were 100'000's if not millions of people dying in Africa from the 1930's onwards & no one noticed a thing". I think it stupid to ignore the probability that this virus was a very intentional one. If Jenkins does study into U.S. government testing on their own citizens he will find at the very least 200 examples since WW2.
He could/should explain the difference between phyologenic which he suggests HIV is closest to Visna & what would be needed for a perfect match. It´sa little pricey but it´s more on the independent side.

Good for the money, very small.
The only thing I should add is that the Total Media key appears to have an expiry date & August (the maker) appear to send you old passkeys that don´t work so you end up having to buy another!
