It is a lthought provoking book. It can and does change people's perception
I had met this book years ago and bought it for a friend, who loves it. We both find it an excellent book. Amy spent her entire time as an adult seeking to help others. Having arrived in India, she never went home again, but chose to serve the Indian people whom she loved. She saved lots of young girls from cult prostitution.
Many were given, or sold, as babies or youngsters to work, as cult prostitutes in Indian temples. Amy rescued whatever ones she could. She showed them kindness and freedom.
This book is really about her daily prayer discoveries regarding the God she served, who inspired her to help others.
The women affectionately caled her amma, (mother). Amy died in India.
There aren't many books like this one. Within its genre I rank it as excellent.

A Wonderful bird
I believe that I have already written a review for this book !
However, I will do so again because it is a book that I could not put down. As an ardent conservationist I was thrilled by the efforts of so many who found this bird so very worth fighting for. Clearing the chosen island sanctuary, of deliberately or accidentally introduced predators; and the saga of the specific monitoring of every bird, burrow, egg, and young, made for hugely exciting and compelling reading, as eggs or young were lost, or successfully hatched and reared. The dedication of each and every one of the specialists and volunteers was, and is, remarkable, but it echoes the way that I personally feel about the Kakapo and their needs. Man has brought about their near-extinction; man, rightly, is trying to correct, to some degree, the damage caused to this wonderfully endearing bird, the so-trusting Kakapo.

It Might be good for Somebody
For me, personally, it did not help. I still felt uncomfortable, so it did not ease my situation. The inflator was worse than useless; I had to inflate it by mouth. It is cheap and for the price, not of bad quality, but in view of the inflator being no good, I could not give it the mark for quality that I, otherwise would have given.
