About

Yate Community Bike Hub is a volunteer-run non-profit with a mission to help people access bikes as a form of active travel around Yate.

Through our volunteer workshop, we re-cycle donated bikes back to the community providing free and affordable cycles for anyone who needs one. For those in financial hardship, the cost of purchase and maintenance of a bike can be a barrier in itself. We are passionate about helping people to access cycling as a low-cost way to travel with high benefits for both the individual and their community.

We sell second-hand bikes and kit from our Hub but some more specialist items will be listed for sale here. All proceeds go back to supporting the Hub activities including
- free Dr Bike drop-in sessions
- free maintenance courses
- accessible community rides
- bike and equipment loans
- supporting local schools to allow more students to access active travel and bikeability
- supporting community events and providing information about active travel
