Not Fit For Purpose - Poor Design - Tape Wheel Too Small for Standard Tape Roll
1 of 1 found this helpful The tape dispenser wheel is of poor design.
The plastic black wheel that is inserted into the roll of tape is both:
(a) Too small in diameter for the roll of tape, and
(b) The edge is not angled to provide a level of friction to hold the tape onto the wheel.
These defects are best understood from some photos I attach that compare the new black wheel to another white tape dispenser wheel of mine that functions correctly.
As a result of these 2 issues, the roll of tape wobbles on the wheel when trying to dispense tape, thus making it difficult to use, causing tape to sometimes get twisted and stick to itself.
I have used tape dispensers over many decades in my office based career, and I have never encountered this issue previously.
Thus this is not a product I wish to keep as it does not perform the function expected of it. Looking at reviews in detail, others buyers commented on the wheel being too small.

OK for the money, but not the best quality
Bought these for my boy at school to replace ones bought 10 months ago from a different supplier. These are thinner than the ones I bought previously, the plastic being possibly half the thickness, and therefore not as protective to the paper inside. However there were a little cheaper working out at 20p each, whereas the previous ones were 30p each.
Would I buy again? Possibly, but for everyday school use I would go for the thicker ones again next time.
