Dead on arrival
The batteries were stone dead and there was no way to replace them. The battery compartment is glued shut. Basically these "marble racers" were designed to stop functioning once the batteries died

Yes you can easily modify this figures wings.
This figure looked strange when I got him out of the package. The gray wings in the back really looked like they were on upside-down with wingtips pointing up and not looking aerodynamic but more like an egg. the only way to spread them out was if Batman was wrapped up in his green shell and I wanted the figure fully exposed. Fortunately, believe it or not, the 4 screws holding the body of the rocket craft together came right out and unbelievably the wing reversal was impossibly simple allowing a perfectly smooth operation and a great final display.
