    Brilliant Chinese Design
I have had this device some time now. It's so good, I simply forget it's there. I have a 3 Mobile 40 GB per month sim in it, and just never think about it any more, month after month. What more can I say. I might add that visually and tactilely it is exceptionally attractive; just good design and obviously well made from excellent materials. Huawei, who are gaining ever increasing reputation in relation to their latest 'phones, totally demonstrate that Chinese reputation for shoddy products is a thing of the past. They are now right out in front in the front rank.

    A historic great recording
When this performance was first issued on LP in the early 1960s, it was regarded as a milestone in terms of stereo recorded sound. We had, quite simply, never heard such exciting, even overwhelming sound quality and stereo sonic stage. Even now, listen to the Triumph scene. The entry of the "Verdi" trumpets still sends shivers down the spine. It put, sound wise, Decca, well in front for technical quality in classical recordings for quite a time. But this was not the only thing that was then, and remains today, remarkable about this recording. It was also the first recording (at least that had come my way) in which Tebaldi (whose greatness needs no introduction or comment from me) performed with Bergonzi, who was already recognised as one of the greatest tenors, particularly in the music of Verdi, where his phrasing was supreme. This pairing was hugely exciting to fans of Tebaldi, as Bergonzi was such a much superior tenor, both vocally and musically, than del Monaco, with whom Tebaldi had recorded for Decca before; and here they blended perfectly, producing one of the most overall triumphant performance of Tebaldi. Earlier recordings of Tebaldi in both Verdi and Puccini, with the Santa Cecilia chorus etc. had suffered, particularly, from too forward placement of the voices and often underwhelming choral and orchestral playing. But here, the Vienna people with Karajan, are brought forward so that there is a true duet between singers and chorus/orchestra; and Karajan was in inspired form, getting the maximum detail and broad eloquence and excitement out of the score, while providing perfect support for the singers. I do not think there is anything on record to surpass the sublimity of the Tebaldi/Bergonzi coupling in "O terra addio" in the final act.
