A must see movie
Great cast and great story. I kept thinking of the Marlon Brando version made of this same story. Intense. Both versions excellent and traps your emotions. Acting? top top performances.

Super Movie ! ! ! Not to be Missed
0 of 1 found this helpful Altho history is played with in this terrific movie, there is enuf to get the gest of Peter the Great and his envions. Powerful production and actors, costumes, settings, music. Everything was perfectly done in my estimation. Don't miss this movie!

Good history
3 of 3 found this helpful If you like history you will enjoy this movie. Lavish and well acted the viewer is given a more accurate insight into the "royal" family and the problems. If you have seen Mayerling with Omar Sharif don't expect this DVD to follow the Hollywood version. The Mayerling was entertaining but not really accurate. This DVD is well worth a place in your library.
