1 of 1 found this helpful Fits well to a mark 2.5. No real issues. Came with decent hardware. I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the manifold. Some of the ports were a bit rough and I'm not 100% it will stand hard abuse but we will see. I'd suggest keeping your oem part just in case.
And the noise is Loud without the cat. I have the whole system on a 1.8. Manifold middle box and back box and it's very raspy at 3000rpm. Awful if I'm honest but I'm just hoping it calms down. If it doesn't, I may order a resonated section. But for the price, it's very good. Mine is just a track car but I'd STRONG reconsider if you are fitting this to a daily driver.

Fits perfect. Material does seems to scratch easily though do be careful when squeezing air bubbles out etc

Mx5 mk2.5 exhaust
Same as the other reviews. Was a bit worried about buying this as it's a cheap price but do not be put off. Its a great bit of kit, seems well made and fitted my 03 plate a dream. Fits well in the rear bumper etc. However I would recommend taking to a garage to fit. So pleased I did as would have been a nightmare to get the old one off otherwise as need to heat the nuts up to get them off. As stated before, you will need to grind away a corner of the diff, as the exhaust hits it otherwise. This is due to it being a larger pipe. However, no real issue there. Other than that, I found I needed to fill the holes in the middle section flange where it connects with the cat as the studs wouldn't quite go through. I also had to re-use the old nuts as the new ones supplied did not fit the studs on the cat. Came with 3 gaskets but only used two. Likewise with the nuts and bolts.
Noise - I did not want a boy racer style loud exhaust. I can confirm you DO NOT such a thing with this. The tone is very similar to standard, just a bit deeper. It does not drown at speed and I am very happy about this. I think it's largely due to the tail pipe being 2.5inch with only the tip increased. Just the job for me. So if you're worried about noise, not be. It's fine. I would certainly recommend this item.
