Great book for geeks

This book is tackling an area which lacks research. Query optimization has always been an issue in large databases. Specially data warehouses. The book summarized literature on Query optimization challenges and provides nice models on how to solve those issues. The book provides a good overview regarding QO techniques. It also provides some techniques, software, and hardware to optimize queries in large databases. Those techniques involve query rewriting, query caching, and VLSI. Recommended for DB students and geeks.
