Old-school Manga at its brutal best
1 of 1 found this helpful I was a huge fan of Manga as a kid and this alongside Akira, was always one that stood out. The animation is excellent and hasn't really aged. It could quite easily be a film with the Blade Runner-style future and kick-ass action scenes. This disc contains all three stories, each one focusing on one of three central characters. If you're cool with bad language, then the dialogue is actually really funny and with an excellent script, it becomes clear that you're not just watching a Saturday Morning Cartoon...that and the fact that there is a fair amount of blood and gore too! The English Dub is from the 1994 English version but there is the option for the Japanese/subtitled version too. This is a great buy and my only disappointment is that the music is taken from the original Japanese soundtrack and not the 1994 version's American Rock Soundtrack but this is still kick-ass viewing! If Akira was meant to be The God Father of Manga then Cyber City is definately Die Hard...

Top Gun with skis....
Beautifully shot and well acted without being too brash or melodramatic. There are some comedic moments as T.J and Dexter (played by Paul Gross and Peter Berg respectfully) try and enter Aspens high society as ski instructors. One loses his way while the other falls in love...blah blah blah. The skiing scenes are pretty intense and edge of your seat stuff and there's an excellent supporting cast including Martin Kemp and Trevor Eve. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours...
