Realistic TRC-449

The Realistic TRC-449 was Radio Shack's flagship mobile CB radio. It didn't take long when looking at one to realize that this is a high quality radio. It has classic styling, it has that quality heft to it, good reports on audio from the people I've talked to on it, and good audio on the receive side. And if you think the audio on the receive is lacking you can always use an aux speaker because it has the output jack for that. Upon inspection of the inside, you see a lot of Uniden chips and components, which makes me feel warm and fuzzy. AND i can say that the service manual for the TRC-449 is THE most thorough and concise service manual I've personally read in all my dealings with such things. Would I recommend a TRC-449 to a fellow CBer? I would say, why don't you own one yet? I own 3 of them and think they're an outstanding radio. 73's.....
