This lens is a must have if you shoot actions and on a budget & well build
I have wanted one of these lenses when they were first introduced . I was finally able to purchaseone for myself for 26/01/2012. I have not been disappointed. Yes, it is heavy; about the same as my Nikon D2xs. I chose the 80-200 instead of the 70-200 VR version based on a conversation with a professional freelance sports photographer who said he seldom uses VR or auto focus and he would not pay double the price for another one. I compensate for lack of VR by using a tripod, monopod or higher ISO. This has become my favorite lens already.

2018 CD fully update, BUT three questions was not in the CD
i have this CD 2018 and fully up to date. i had that today i just passed. BUT three questions was not in the CD book WHY!!!!!!!

Great alternative
This is an excellent lens heavy. Excellent value when purchased 2nd hand mine was absolutely as brand new.
