You can use your eBay earnings to pay for items on ebay.co.uk, buy postage labels, or pay for any selling costs. There are no costs or additional fees associated with eBay balance.
You can also withdraw your available eBay balance to your linked bank account at any time.
You can view your balance on My eBay, or on the Payments tab in Seller Hub.
Paying for an item with your eBay balance
To pay for items using your balance, simply select eBay balance at checkout. If you don’t have enough funds to cover the full amount, you can combine them with another form of payment such as a credit or debit card. The seller will receive the full amount in one payment, and it won’t affect any protection under the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
eBay balance is available on Buy it now and Best offers purchases. Auction purchases using your balance will be available soon.
Here’s how to use your eBay balance at checkout:
- Select Pay with, and select eBay balance.
- If your balance doesn’t cover the full amount, select an additional payment method.
- Select Confirm and pay.
How to use eBay balance in offers:
- In the Pay with section of your offer, select eBay balance.
- Toggle on eBay balance and save changes.
- If you have funds available, they’ll be applied first. eBay will charge the difference to your preferred payment method.
For security purposes, you’ll be asked to verify your identity using a one-time passcode, password or push notification to your device. For more information, please read our article on Multi-factor authentication.
Your eBay balance may not be available as a payment option for items in some categories on eBay, including items that are excluded from coverage under eBay Money Back Guarantee, and items such as:
- Digital items such as NFTs

You won’t be able to use your eBay balance to pay for items in these categories, and the checkout page will show alternative payment methods you can use. You can read our payment methods policy for more information.

- Your account isn’t verified

Receiving refunds as a buyer
If you receive a refund for an item you paid for using only your eBay balance, we'll credit the entire amount of the refund back to your balance.
If you receive a partial refund for an item you paid for with your eBay balance and an additional payment method, we'll credit your additional payment method first, and then your balance will be refunded.
If an item you purchased is faulty or damaged, or doesn't match the listing, it may be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Learn more about Returns, items not received, and refunds for buyers.
