Why are we launching eBay AI Activate now?
eBay ‘AI Activate’ aims to help skill-up small UK businesses with fully funded access to the latest enterprise AI tools and training which help to free up time and boost growth for entrepreneurs on eBay and beyond.
We have always said that we succeed as a marketplace, when our sellers succeed - part of our role is to champion and support small businesses in the UK to get access to the right tools and training to help them compete. That’s why - having rolled out ChatGPT Enterprise for eBay employees globally, we’re inviting eBay UK business sellers to participate in our fully funded eBay AI Activate programme.
When will I get access after registering?
After you submit your registration, our team will review your request and send you an invitation to join the eBay AI Activate workspace. This process may take up to 48 hours. Once completed, you’ll receive an email invitation directly from OpenAI. The subject line will be: “[Name]@eBay.com has invited you to ChatGPT Enterprise.” If you don’t see the invitation after 48 hours, please check your spam or junk folder.
Is the number of spots limited?
Yes. eBay AI Activate will initially onboard 10,000 eBay business sellers over the rest of this year. By expressing your interest today, you’ll be set up to hear about upcoming onboarding when the program launches and any future rollouts.
I’m not currently an eBay seller. How do I get involved?
This programme is open to all eBay UK business sellers. All it takes is to register your business on eBay and start selling.
Will my personal ChatGPT account be affected?
No. If you already have a personal ChatGPT account, you can continue using it alongside the eBay AI Activate workspace. You’ll have the flexibility to keep both.
If you decide you only want to use the eBay-provided workspace, you can cancel your personal subscription. Once cancelled, OpenAI will issue a refund of the remaining period a user pre-paid for. For full details, see OpenAI’s guidance on managing your subscription. Before cancelling, please note that if you want to keep access to your data, custom GPT setups, and personalisation settings, you’ll simply need to export and copy these across.
