        Bundle discounts for sellers

Bundle discounts encourage buyers to turn a single-item purchase into a multiple-item order.

Bundle discounts are a simple way to offer savings when buyers purchase multiple items from you in one order. You can set up different discount percentages for purchases of 2, 3 or more of the same item or a mix and match of items.

        How bundle discounts works

The decision on which items are included or excluded from bundle discounts is entirely up to you. When you set up the bundle discount feature, buyers see the discounts you offer while browsing a listing and in your shop or profile. The bundle discount prompts will show the percentage discounts you offer. The cash amount the buyer pays will be clear at checkout.

You don’t need to do anything to calculate the discount or confirm it’s applied.

        Setting up bundle discounts

There are a number of ways to turn on bundle discounts and set up simple rules for the discounts you offer, the items you’re including, and items you wish to exclude.

To add bundle discounts on the eBay app:

        1. Sign into the eBay app.
        2. Tap the Selling page and then the Bundles icon.
        3. From there, choose your discount percentage for 2, 3, and 4+ items and select which listings are included.

        How returns work

If a buyer returns part of an order that qualified for a bundle discount, we recalculate the price based on the items they keep.

        Example

You offer bundle discounts as follows:
        • Buy 2 items, get 20% off
        • Buy 3 items, get 30% off

        Step

        What happens

        Amount

        1. Items purchased

Buyer purchases 3 items at £10 each

        £30.00

        2. Bundle discount applied

3-item bundle discount is 30% off (£3 off each item)

        Buyer pays £21.00 (£7 each)

        3. Buyer returns 1 item

        Buyer keep 2 items

        4. Bundle discount is recalculated

Since the buyer now keeps 2 items, the order qualifies for the 2-item bundle discount instead

        2 items = £16.00 (£8 each)

        5. Refund is calculated

Original payment (£21.00) − New total for the 2 items kept (£16.00)

        Refund = £5.00

        Why isn't the refund £7?

The buyer no longer qualifies for the 3-item discount after returning an item. Their order is recalculated using the discount that applies to the 2 items they keep.

eBay calculates this refund automatically. You don't need to review or approve the calculation.

        Tip
You can set up different discount percentages for purchases of 2, 3 or more of the same item or for a mix and match of items.

        FAQs

        What are bundle discounts?

Bundle discounts let you offer a percentage off when a buyer purchases multiple items from you in one order. You choose the discount tiers and which items are included.

Do I have to opt in? Can I opt out?

Bundle discounts require you to opt in. They are not turned on by default. Once enabled, you can turn them off or adjust your settings at any time from your selling page.

Can I choose which items are included?

Yes. Once you opt in, bundle discounts apply to all eligible listings by default. You can choose which listings are part of your bundle inventory by excluding specific items from bundle discounts at any time.

Are new listings automatically added to bundle discounts?

If you are opted in to bundle discounts, any new eligible listings you create will automatically be added to your bundle discount inventory. You can exclude individual listings at any time if you don’t want them to be eligible for bundle discounts.

What discount percentages should I offer?

That’s entirely up to you. Common examples are 10% off 2 items, 15% off 3, and 20% off 4+.

Does offering bundle discounts affect my individual item prices?

No. Bundle discounts apply on top of your listed prices. Your individual listing prices stay the same.

Can bundle discounts be combined with other promotions I’m running?

Bundle discounts can be combined with eBay sitewide promotions and sale events. They can't be combined with seller vouchers, seller order discounts, volume pricing, or other seller promotional codes you may be running.

If an item is eligible for multiple seller discounts (e.g. a bundle discount and a voucher) the discount that is the best deal for the buyer will be applied. Example: if a seller is offering a bundle discount of 15% for 2 items and a voucher for 20% off, the voucher discount will apply, not the bundle discount.

What happens if a buyer returns part of a bundle order?

If a buyer returns some items, the kept items are re-priced at the discount tier they qualify for based on remaining quantity. If they no longer meet a tier minimum, they revert to full price. The buyer’s refund is calculated accordingly. You don’t need to manage this manually.

Can I change or end my bundle discount offer?

Yes, at any time. Changes apply to new orders going forward. Buyers are informed at checkout that discounts apply when they confirm and pay, and that terms may change.

Will buyers know about my bundle discounts before they reach checkout?

Bundle discount opportunities are surfaced to buyers on your listing pages, in their cart, and on your store or profile page. They’ll see the discount percentage and the cash amount they’ll pay as they add items, before they pay.

Do I need to offer a discount on postage?

No, postage is managed separately and is based on the postage options in your listings. To make bundle discounts even more attractive to buyers, you can offer free postage or set up combined postage discounts through your postage preferences. Learn more about how to set up postage discounts here.

How are bundle discounts different from other discounts available to store subscribers?

Bundle discounts can be seen as an ‘always on’ discount across a seller’s listings, while vouchers and order discounts are designed to run for a specific time period and for a specific set of listings. Learn more about setting up vouchers and discounts here.
