Listing with the eBay catalogue
The catalogue is an online library of product details and images provided by eBay users that covers a wide range of categories. When selling in one of these categories, we strongly encourage you to list your items using details from the catalogue.
Using the catalogue to list your items will start to become mandatory for some categories from mid-September 2018. Right now we're introducing categories to the catalogue in phases so if you're selling in any of the categories that we've already added, you should start to list using the catalogue straight away.
To create a new listing or to revise an existing listing in the enabled categories, you'll need to select a product. You won't be able to complete your listing otherwise. Additionally, any active listings that you have that aren't associated with a product in the catalogue may have limited or no visibility to buyers.

Creating a listing for a product already included in the catalogue
If the product you're selling is already in the catalogue, you can create your listing straight away.
You can manage your live listings from the Active listings page - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub.
Listings with variations
If you have many similar items that have different variations such as colour or size, you need to match each variation you offer to a product in the catalogue.
If a variation of your product isn't included in the catalogue, you can send a product creation submission to have it added. Follow the instructions in the Adding products to our catalogue section below to get started.

Adding products to the catalogue
If you can't find an item in the catalogue, double check your spelling or try searching with fewer or different words.
If the catalogue still doesn't have an exact match, you can send a product creation submission to add the product to the catalogue.
Product creation submissions and product updates are typically added to the catalogue within 24 hours. You can view the status of your submission or update on the Manage product submissions page in Seller Hub.
After you've sent your submission or update, you can continue to create your listing by completing the listing form. You can add your own information like price, returns policy and shipping details.
When you complete your listing, you can choose to publish it before your product submission or update has been added to the catalogue, or wait until it has been added. If you choose to wait, your listing will go live when the product or update has been published in the catalogue – you don't need to do anything else.
Contributing changes to a product in the catalogue
If you think some of the product information in the catalogue is inaccurate or incomplete, you should correct it by submitting a product information update.
Checking the status of your product submissions or updates
If you submitted a new product or product update, you can check its status on the Manage product submissions page - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub. You'll see whether or not your product creation submission or product update was added, or if your submission is still being processed.
If you'd like to change the details you submitted, and they haven't been published in the catalogue yet, you need to submit another update with the information you’d like to add or edit. You'll typically see the status of your new update within 24 hours.
Products or updates that are not added to the catalogue
If your product or product update has not been added to our catalogue, you can find out why in the Reasons column on the Manage product submissions page - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub.
If you disagree with the reason, you can file an appeal on the Product update page - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub.
Sharing and using content
As a community-written document, the product catalogue consists of images and information contributed by eBay members, like you, and other third parties. All content submitted must comply with the terms of the eBay User Agreement and all eBay policies.
Guidelines for creating your listing with the catalogue
When you select an item from the catalogue, be sure it's an exact match with what you're selling. It's against our search and browse manipulation policy to use catalogue details for a different product than the one you're listing.
It's important that your listing is completely accurate. Listings that don't follow our guidelines could be removed, and members could have their buying and selling privileges restricted or their account suspended
