Reporting Intellectual Property Infringements (VeRO)

How to report a listing to eBay

The following steps are for reporting a listing to eBay. Only the intellectual property rights owner can report of potentially infringing items or listings through the eBay VeRO Programme. If you are not the intellectual property rights owner, you can still help by getting in touch with the rights owner and encouraging them to contact us.

The most efficient way to report allegedly infringing listings is through our VeRO Reporting Tool. Here’s how to sign up for the VeRO Reporting Tool:

  1. Register for an eBay user ID that has not been previously used for buying or selling.

  2. Submit your Notice of Claimed Infringement (NOCI) and be sure to include the user ID you created.

  3. Email the NOCI to us.

  4. Once we receive your NOCI, your new eBay User ID will be given access to our VeRO Reporting Tool and you will receive further instructions.

  5. All future reports should be submitted through the VeRO Reporting Tool.

Note: You will need Adobe® Acrobat Reader to view and print our NOCI form. You can download a free copy at Adobe's website.

VeRO Participant Page

We encourage you to educate eBay users about your products and legal positions by creating a VeRO Participant Page. We have found that many of our users cease listing potentially infringing items when presented with such information. Learn how to set up your VeRO Participant page. Once you have posted your VeRO Participant Page, send us an email and we will include it in our list of VeRO Participant pages.
