Kindle is linked to AMAZON as the only source of books -therefore expensive

No, I wouldn't recommend this product.

An excellent e-reader, very easy to use. The reading experience is very positve, the reader is lighter and easier to carry than a book. An excellent feature is the large memory. I also like the fact that you can link more than one Kindle to the same account, so you can read the books you bought on several devices.

The only drawback is the fact that you cannot borrow ebooks from an e-library. The so-called Amazon-Prime lending library is useless, as you are limited to one book per month and the cost works out at £5 for every book borrowed. Why is it that in the USA you can borrow e-books in Kindle format from libraries but not in the UK? This is the biggest drawback to a Kindle and that is why I would not recommend this product.
