If you're like me and like to be able to walk around when I hop off my bike, to shop, dine, etc. without the click clack of cleats, these half clips let you ride using regular shoes. great for commuting, touring, or almost any type of riding. They're easier to get into than strapped set ups and need very little practice to get used to...plus they're great for those occasional panic stops as they allow for very easy dismounting.

I'm not a triathlete, but these may be helpful making the run-to-bike or bike-to-run transition easier and less time consuming by not requiring a change of shoes as these will let you go from run to cycling with the same shoes...just a thought.

One nice feature is they don't have extra material extending out in front of the toe area as some designs do...especially nice if you have to worry about toe clearance with the front wheel when making sharp turns.Read full review

This is my second pair of Zefal, Half toe-clips and I am very pleased. They are well constructed and sturdy. Easy to install with included hardware. Half v. Full

Half to me means strapless. Just put these on about a week ago. I had been using the regular full-size strapped toeclips. I was unhappy with those because they get in the way and it's cumbersome to get your foot in and out quickly (especially in). They also break easy, the straps hang and they look junky.

I recently, independently came up with this idea of a shortened, strapless toeclip that is more resilient and even looks better. When I did an online search, I was hoping, but not sure they already existed. And they do. I don't have to make my own.Read full review

These half toe clips work great and are easier to engage than the ones with
straps. Easy to install, made of strong material and work as designed.

Works Without Straps

The stiffness of these toe clips holds the feet while standing on the pedals as well as keeping them on the pedals. They are much stiffer than ordinary toe clips that use straps. They also have a safety advantage compared to the clips that use straps, since it's easier to get out of the pedals. I haven't used clip-ons which have to be adjusted, and are much more complicated and expensive. The only disadvantage I see with these is they do break eventually where they fasten to the pedals with screws. They're all that a commuter or cruising cyclist needs. I have size 8 1/2 feet and the s/m clip was the perfect size for me, but 10 or larger I'd go for the larger size clips.Read full review
